How to Fix air Conditioner leaking water?
Inspect your air conditioner unit to determine the angle at which it is installed in the window. The rear of the unit on the outside of the window should be about an inch lower than the front. This will encourage any drips to flow outside, rather than indoors and on to the floor of your home.
Check for ice build-up
Check your unit for ice, which can form if there are problems with the cooling system. When the ice eventually melts, water can leak into your home. Ice on an air conditioner can be caused by multiple issues, so troubleshoot the cause and make necessary repairs to fix the leak in your system.
Feel for air leaks
Find where water builds up
Run the unit for a little while to determine where the water is pooling. If it's at the front of the machine, the internal water channels might be backing up. Cleaning them manually can often solve this problem.
Clear the drain hole
Check the drainage hole located at the back of the air conditioner. If this is obstructed, water will back up into the unit and eventually leak into your home. Gently clear away dirt and debris with a small object like a pipe cleaner.
Watch the outdoor temperature
If you're reaching the end of summer or having a few cool days, the air outside may be cooler than it is indoors, especially at night. This can cause condensation and dripping to occur. Turn off the unit altogether when it's not needed, or use a setting that will switch the unit automatically to the fan when the temperature drops below a certain point.
